Electoral register look-up
« on: Sunday 30 July 17 09:28 BST (UK) »
Hi

Is there perhaps a Forum member in Southend-on-Sea that could check electoral records for me please?  The period I am wanting to check is 1918 through 1926 for the BARTON family  -  Frank (also called Frank Edward Henry), Eva Violet, Eunice Valerie, Terence Robert, John Llewellyn and Ruth Patricia.

The family have resided in 104 Porters Grange Avenue,  154 Southchurch Road, 27 Seaview Road and 128 Ambleside Drive - these addresses from shipping records, school admissions, marriage record and 1939 Electoral Register.  Findmypast have not covered South Essex in the transcriptions for the Electoral Registers 1832 - 1932.

Thank you very much

Cintombi

Bad news, I'm afraid. Essex Record Office website, SEAX, suggests that no Southend CB electoral registers for the period have survived.
See Electoral registers not held by the ERO -

Hi Jonw65

Thank you for your reply and the link that you sent.  Yes, it is a disappointment to find out that the electoral registers for the years I need to check for Southend-on-sea have not survived.  Very frustrating.
Best wishes,
Cintombi

Hi Cintombi

I've created this new topic for you as you had added your request to an older topic regarding cemeteries.

I also checked the British Library holdings, they start 1937 though.

The ER's on FindMyPast are still a work in progress, the have only done those counties upto O for which they have holdings, so you can view or search Norfolk but not Oxfordshire.
