William Legg. IOW?
« on: Saturday 19 August 17 12:18 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Been browsing through previous research of the wife's side of the family.

According to the 1851 census he was head of house and born in HAM Isle of Wight and is aged 52.

I have looked at many site but haven't located him as yet.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks in advance.

Neil.

Is he the licensed victualler at 15 Sun Street, Portsea in 1851-1871 with a spouse Sarah?

Born in West Cowes per the 1851.

But that one is only 44 in 1851.

Hi ShaunJ

Yes the 51 says 44. My mistake.
The 61 census says 52.

I imported a GEDCOM of my Family Origins to FTM and it's knocked the notes out of kilter.

Looks like my afternoon is is going to be resorting it all out .

So was she Sarah Andrews? Married in 1838? Do you have the marriage certificate?

I checked Aaron born 1841 mmn Andrews.

If this is the marriage, William Legge's father was also a William

If that's the marriage one or both of them must have had children from a previous relationship.
