Neither could I to start with. But it's probably this one, as shown on FreeBMD. St in the death register may have been misread as H by GRO indexers.

If she was really HOW, that might explain why Steve didn't find her in the prison register.

Thanks so much for finding her in the death regs. No wonder I couldn't find her under STOW!  Any other help on how to find her criminal conviction would be most appreciated as I can't find her on any of the Criminal Registers or in the newspapers committing her crime!

The point is well made by John, that the cemetery record could be wrong, and that this lady was really named Mary Ann HOW, and that she is not the Mary Ann Stow you are looking for.
