« on: Friday 08 September 17 15:35 BST (UK) »
I just wondered if there is any way that i can find out more information about this marriage before I order the certificate to see if it is the correct event for my research.
The BMD reference is March Q Blandford Reg 5a 439.

Many thanks

What information would you be looking for to confirm they are yours? Would looking them up in 1939 for exact birthdates help you? - if so you can do that on Findmypast.

Thank you- I had not thought of that. I am also wondering if the bride's father would be listed anywhere but i know it is a long shot.

Did they emigrate to Canada?

I can see Margaret and daughter on a 1923 passenger list - future permanent residence Canada.  They are shown as travelling to join Margaret's husband W.H. Sinton, who had gone ahead to Essex, Ontario.

Margaret was 43 in 1923.  Apparently not previously married, as Hunt was the maiden name on their daughter's 1921 birth registration.

Margaret's parents (living at 40 Durweston, Blandford, Dorset) were William and Fanny Hunt, according to the 1923 Canadian immigration documents.

This is truly amazing- thank you so very much!!!! Am I still on the right track with the marriage to William H Sinton in 1920 as someone called Bill features strongly in this research. Is there any mention of him in the Immigration- not sure if he was actually a canadian national. The daughter born 1921 was possibly called Eunice. I can feel a long standing brick wall coming down!
Thank you so very much!

Can you see where the child that was born in 1921 was actually born? It is possible that she was born in Canada in 1921- any details visible?

It is the right marriage.  His full name was William Henry Sinton, born (according to Canadian immigration records) in Stalbridge, Dorset.

He first immigrated to Canada in 1913, and was settled in Essex, Ontario, working on a farm, by the time he travelled back to England in 1920 (during which trip he married Margaret). He travelled back to Canada in March 1920, giving his age as 43.
