So you are saying Edith married the FATHER of Walter born in 1912.

Well I will know when I get the certificate.

Its such a small world a few years ago I painted 73, Wathen Road for Walter and Laura's youngest Son Stanley born 1920. I lived with their daughter for a couple of years (she died 3 years ago).

Hi Lady, I have now solved it. I went and looked for the marriage of Edith and Walter at St Paul's but not there so I presume it was the registery office.

Edith remarried in 1955 Frederick E Price. She died in 1962. Probate  with same address also mentions her sister married to Tom Bean, So her father was Arthur.

I think that  Edith Monsell in 1939 is her but don't have a DOB anywhere else.

Yes I do believe You have finally solved it and I am very grateful to you. I would like that picture of Walter you say is on Ancestry so I might try and get that I can then put it in the book I am writing.

Its a shame Jean Goode had died because I'm sure she would have known her step grandmother. I may try and contact her sister Brenda up north somewhere. Her brother Keith as moved abroad somewhere.

It looks as if that is the correct entry for Edith surname MONSELLon 1939 register

Only just noticed that her sister Matilda Mansell was registered with same year and page number

I hadn't noticed Matilda recently because I had only got Edith's window open but when I have the parents window open I can see all the children and their births. in fact I had Matilda as 11/7/1891 for some reason, I usually put by the DOB in brackets at the end of the 1939 info.

I have never been able to find anything on Tom Bean only the marriage in 1938 I have searched his name before no birth, census, 1939 death or parents I do have Mabel's DOB 16/4/1899 which I must have got from her death.

I will check the Burial out tomorrow and the Probate at the records office.

I have never been able to find anything on Tom Bean only the marriage in 1938 I have searched his name before no birth, census, 1939 death or parents I do have Mabel's DOB 16/4/1899 which I must have got from her death.

I can't place either on 1939 register even using dob for Mabel 
 the only one I came up with

but you did get her dob from death record

I wonder if I dare mention another one of their sisters Annie born 1889 says Yardley birth reg. Sept qtr 1889 Solihull 6d 547.

I have her at home with her parents in 1891 and 1901. Then the last time I see her in Edgbaston with the Wood family.

I did see a Marriage Henry Hutchison Dec qtr 1919 Birmingham 6d 496.
There is a child John M Hutchison born Sept qtr 1921 West Brom. 6d 1500 mmn Mansell

I suppose I need to check 1939.

You could try searching the 1939 register for Annie using month 08 and year 1889,
it would appear the Annie Mansell who married Henry Hutchinson born c1882
