Well....its not so much the john ayres......its a long story....but to cut it down a bit my grt grandad was as far as i knew william oconnor.....but my 2nd cousin said his real name was ayres.....he arrived in village with the fair on a boxing booth.....in 1897 he married local girl mary bennett using name oconnor....so from marrige onwards we have records of him.....but going bk.....nothing.
After posting else where i was told his family from bicester....William b 1843 being his dad....john his grandad......that cant b true.
On census he gives birth as 1874 liverpool.on marriage cert father also a william oconnor
Iv searched endless William ayres and oconnor but none of them him they all seem to die..
