Missing Family!!! Hulme Manchester
« on: Monday 02 October 17 18:16 BST (UK) »
Alfred James Price B 1858  & Thomas Price B 1855 to John & Mary Price feature in 1861/71 census living in Hulme Manchester but I cant find any of them in 1881 census... I believe their dad John died in Withington Workhouse by 1880......given they lived next to Hulme Barracks I suppose they could have enlisted after their Dad died.....seems strange.....

I assume you have John and Mary's marriage entry  :-\

8 December 1850 - Manchester Cathedral - by Banns
John Price - 37, Widower, Bricksetter of 29 Livesey Street.  Father:  John, Labourer
Mary Whitehead - 31, widow of Moss Lane, Hulme.  Father:  John Brookes, Gardener
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

John Price - 28 - Bricklayer
Winifred - 24
Thomas - 2 plus lodgers

1891 - RG12/3194 folio 125 page 17 - 4 Rob Roy Court, Hulme
John Price - 38 - Bricklayer
Winifred - 32

I can't readily see a military entry for either - but then I'm no expert on military matters.  :-X

I assume you've got Alfred James' baptism at The Cathedral, Manchester.  Born 28 May 1858, baptised 26 February 1860 - father is a Bricklayer, abode is Manchester.

Possible 1881 for Thomas - RG11/3989 folio 79, page 68 - 23 Tickle Street, Manchester

Amongst a whole array of names - Thomas Price, 26 - Warehouse Porter.  Born Manchester.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
