Can’t find these people on census. Help please.

I don’t know if anyone can help but I feel like I am going around in circles. Ellen Kilshaw born Burtonwood, Lancashire 1852. I am trying to find more information about her dad who I have found through her marriage record was called John. I cannot find a birth record for Ellen or any sign of them on 1862 & 1872 censuses. Ellen married Stanley Chandler on 19 October 1878. Her residence is shown as Warrington.

I feel as if I am missing something. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

Have you ruled out Mary Ellen Kilshaw born 1856ish with parents Thomas & Mary at Fields Farm in Burtonwood in the 1861 census as being a completely different person that just happens to have a very similar name?

This one is the correct spelling

This covers the reg district

Do you know who the marriage witnesses were and her father's occupation from the marriage cert.?

Could the father's names have been switched on the marriage certificate?

Stanley Chandler was born 1855 in Presteigne Registration District; 1871 census says Kinnersley, Herefordshire.
His father's name was John!

The Prescot birth looks to tally with the Ellen Kilshaw shown in the 1861 census as born Rainhill, father William a Carter.

 Thank you for the replies. I don’t have the Marriage certificate at the moment because I am more interested in John. I was hoping to find him on a census so I can get more information. I have been down the wrong line with this branch before and I am hoping not to make the same mistake.

This one seems to have married Charles Pratt at St Paul, Warrington on 30 Jan 1875 (Lan-OPC).
