i'm not sure my last post registered - it was a little aside about a witness I noticed at Thomas and Clara's marriage, Ellen Dumbell. My sister is married to a Dumbill, and when I mentioned to him that we had family from around Culcheth, he said he did too. fascinating to piece together the story of somebody like Robert Skelton and to understand because of his occupation how he ended up in Devon and marrying someone from Cornwall, and then to see him return to Lancashire.
