I reckon that William died in Stanground and is one or other of the Williams buried there on either 12 Aug 1805 or, more likely, on 5 Aug 1810. His widow Elizabeth baptised an illegitimate son William on 25 Apr 1815 and then married William Andrews on 7 Apr 1817, widow and widower.

Still don't know where William was from though

On reflection I wonder if the two William burials in Stanground in 1805 and 1810 are the other way round, in the absence of any detail in the PR. Perhaps it was the father who died in Aug 1805 with his wife pregnant with Mary baptised Feb 1806, and it was the son William who died in Aug 1810. It would explain why there were no more children between 1806 and 1810

All speculation!

David, I also found this record.
Could this be the William born in 1815 and William Andrew adopted him as his own?

I'm pretty sure the bastardy case related to William Medlock born 1815.

I'm not so sure though that he is William Andrew who was baptised in 1817. In fact I doubt that he was. They went on to have a couple of daughters

Hi David,
I went through the parish records from that link you sent in a previous message. I am still looking for William Medlock. Could he be the one who was baptized in 1780 in Tempsford?

I'm confident that he wasn't. See my reply #9 in this thread. I think the William born 1780 was a baker in Tempsford, where he died in 1821 aged 41, which fits perfectly.

I've been looking at John son of Nathaniel and I'm now sure that you were right when you said he married Sarah Griggs, as their children born after 1837 have mother's maiden name Griggs in the GRO index. I think the one who married Sarah Smith in Sutton in 1821 was baptised in Wrestlingworth, only 4 miles from Sutton, on 15 July 1798
