Obiturary for Joseph Samuel Oridge
« on: Sunday 12 November 17 14:22 GMT (UK) »
Joseph Samuel Orridge, 1915 Leicestershire, died 1943 Thailand.  I have all the info where he is buried and his war details, although nothing about how he died, (he was a prisoner of war)but cannot find any obituraries about him on ancestry.  Any help please

Hi

Have you tried using F M P's military collection which is free to use today. There is a Casualty Card amongst other things for him, which reveals he died of Beri Beri.

Snap JJen :)

Thanks Jjen,

I thought beriberi was a place (stupid). Just realised as it was written on card.

Thanks

Yes Clare,

That's where I saw his record and just realised beriberi was a disease and not a place.  😁😳

Thanks
