Hi all,

Does anyone have access to st. Thomas, Stepney, Parish Records.

Am after entry 14th October 1853, baptism for Louisa Maria Wiggins.

Any help would be great.

Curious to know if you have found a way to access St.Thomas,Stepney parish records? I am trying to do the same.

The best way to access these records is at an LDS Family History Centre.  You can find one near you on their site www.familysearch.org

It is better to send for certificates as the Parish records do not contain much information except for a birth where the parents names will be given.  But the mothers maiden name may not be included

I have just been corrected and apparently the Parish records from 1837 do contain the info you want.  However I still think it best to have a certificate.

Thank you Sylviaan, There is an LDS library almost around the corner from me. When I went there last week and viewed the call number film, it only showed me what I had from their web site. I need to go back and try and view the source film.

Good luck Sharon.  I did most of my research at my local LDS.  It's wonderful to look at the original films.  You never know what you may find

Has anyone gotten you the information yet on the Baptism of Louisa Maria Wiggins yet? I have borrowed the microfilm for the Saint Thomas baptism and marriage records and will be going to the LDS library today and will be more than happy to look it up for you.

In addition to what has been suggested, Docklands Ancestors has a 'coming soon' for St Thomas Stepney Parish Records 1840 - 1876 - not sure what coming soon means though.  http://www.parishregister.com/searchpage.html

Jennean, sorry about that I tried to add the smiley face after I had written the message. I found the Baptism record for Louisa Maria Wiggins, I made a copy for you if you need it, I'm having trouble reading the writing but will tell you as much as I can make out.
Louisa Maria Wiggins born Aug. 14, 1820
Father: William Bridges (that's what it looks like)
Mother: Mary Ann
address: 44 (cannot make out street
Town: Looks like either a F or T h?t. Would like to know which town it is because it's the same town that my Gates family is living in on their Baptism records.
