Hi Emelton & Jon

Thanks for confirming the research that I did some years ago, when I was looking for Thomas's marriage. He was my 7 x great grandfather. My grandmother Annie Cornell was the last of the family to be born in Great Shelford in 1880
Kind Regards

David :D

There’s a Thomas cornel baptised in wimbish 1679 to John and Margaret. He would only have been 16 at his marriage but not impossible then.
More likely: 5 Jun 1671 to Mary and William also in wimbish.
First baptism for William and Mary’s children seems to be 1663 but there’s a gap in the Parish registers for wimbish from 1660 to 1666!

However, Williams baptism was to John and Jane Cornell 12 Jun 1637 in wimbish. Says they were of thunderly. There’s thunderly hall near wimbish. Just to confuse the issue, there’s another William Cornell baptised to Thomas and Martha in 1634.

John Cornell 26 jan 1595 wimbish. (Possibly Williams father?) Father is Thomas. Or: John son of John Cornell 1608. Also wimbish. Will look to see when John and Jane’s marriage and children are born as this might rule one out.
