Interesting that Mary Jane lived in 47.2 Everton street in 1901 and Hannah lived in 47.1. I wonder if the house was split in two. Very small houses if they were. She was cited as widow in 1901 so John mist have died before that (if he was her husband)

My Maggie Craig died on 21 Dec 1917 in Everton Street according to Irish genealogy. That's the difficulty with so many Maggies and Craig. Thanks  for looking that up anyway.

It's entirely probably (based on evidence so far) that Mary Jane Craig never married. Wonder if Jane Craig was her mother?

Joseph Craig, nailer, that you mentioned earlier was Presbyterian not Church of Ireland-

He died 1904 in Ballymena Workhouse-

Yes, of course. I know very little about Mary Jane but I did think Jane might have been her mother. Hannah died of TB around 1905 not long after giving birth to a wee John Gordon who also died in infancy. John Gordon senior died in 1907 of typhoid and his brother Samuel was witness to the death. Hannah and John has 5 children but only three survived to adulthood. Two Marias died in childhood. The first born in 1896 and died aged 6 of measles. She is buried in Shankill old graveyard and there is a stone erected for her by John saying "Wee Ria". I'm not sure about the second Maria. Polly born 1896 married William Macauley, Caroline my grandmother born 1898 was said to have married Thomas Killow but I doubt it and Maggie born 1901 married Francis Adams.

That's sad. I wonder if folk changed religion. I think he never married. Interesting that he was also a nailer. Was that a common job?
