I certainly agree with you!  I do not believe Edmond is correct either.  I have found here in the States people try to make people fit and I have had to go back a prove things aren't so... Your post sparked my interest in disproving Edmond as well because I have been trying to map out all these "Wisbech Edwards" and to do not believe the "Edmond"...  I guess we are on the same quest!  I did find this today... Letters of Queen Margaret...  "Edwards" is mentioned...

Thank you for the tip on Thomas Edwards and Camilla Browne.  The reason I am vested in this is that in the Surry County, VA Early records, the William Edwards (1615-1673) descendants are marrying into the Browne family and are living in close proximity.  I have the Browne Virginia Family Pedigree, but there is a William Browne that is an "outlier"... he is part of the Browne Family, but not from the Virginia Patriarch, and they are marrying their cousins.  With this "closeness" in England and "closeness" in the colony around the same timeframe... maybe there is a link...

Found another "Edmond"

Edmond Edwards b. 1584 (bap. 26 Jun 1584).  Father was Thomas Edwards. (Wisbech, St. Peters Registry)... https://www.freereg.org.uk/

Edmond Edwards (? Suspect)
-Thomas/Catherine Cross Edwards
--Robert/Sarah Gore Edwards
--Mary Edwards (d. 1584)
--John/Agnes Scortred Edwards (John b. 1567)
--Thomas/Rachel Sailbanke Edwards (Thomas b. 1568)
--Osmond/Katherine Parmiter Edwards (Osmond b. 1573)
--William Edwards (1580)
--Elizabeth Edwards (1582)
--Edmund Edwards (b 26 Jun 1584; d. 1584)

Ive almost have the Wisbech Edwards completed, using Wills/Registries/Vistations.

William (who I guess is the son of Robert Edwards & Mary Tilney) is 1 step too far away from my ggparents as I try to stay within 3 but often fail.

Agnes Scortred is a 10 x ggmother by her second husband but her father Thomas is an 11 x ggfather twice by the marriages of the offspring of Agnes & her brother William.

Robert Edwards - Mary Tilney (m. 1606)
--Bartholomew Edwards (1608-1618)
--Thomas Edwards (1610)
--William Edwards (1616)
--Audrey Edwards (1619)
--Elizabeth Edwards (1622)
--Anne Edwards (1625)
--Bartholomew Edwards (1627)
--John Edwards (1629-1631)

I have a few Edwards that I need to place... Robert Edwards m. Alice L***sbie... (m. 1629/30) and Robert Edwards m. Elizabeth Emmerson (m. 1636)

Attachment is from:  Alumni Cantabrigienses:  A Biographical List of All Known Students, Graduates and Holders of Office at the University of Cambridge, From The Earliest Times to 1900, Volume 1: From the Earliest Times to 1751; Part 2 Dabbs-Juxton.  Edited by John Venn and J.A. Venn. Cambridge University Press, 2011. p.87

Appears this Edmond Edwards was the father to Thomas Edwards m. Katherine Crosse

*Archbishop was Mathew Parker (1504-1575)

Thanks, be wary of Venn, he (they) seem to have made errors at times..

What additional evidence is there that Thomas is the son of this Edmond?

btw, I did find the attached.
