All the Robertson jewellers in cupar

My Robertson family seem to have been big in the jewelery business. Robert Robertson b 1793, his son George 1836 and daughter Elizabeth 1827  were all Jewelers in Cupar. Another son Robert b 1820 came here to Australia and was a Jewelle in Melbourne. They also had to do with weights and measures. Would the Jewelle business be inherited? Would they have done apprenticeships? would there be any records? So many questions! Pam
