I'm having no joy trying to find my Grandma Edith Bullock, supposedly born Yorks 1893 in the 1901 or 1911 census, even using her apparent siblings names brings no records?? Any ideas???

Thanks for the welcome and thanks in advance for your help😁. No marriage cert either, but records say 1917 to Alfred Oliver Williams born 1890 Llantrisant, no parents mentioned!

I think you may have to bite the bullet and buy Edith and Alfred's marriage cert.

Did Edith remarry?  Looking at the 1939 index, there is an A O Williams, and wife Edith (birth date 15 Sept 1893) in Caerphilly U.D., Glamorganshire.

An Edith Pike with the same birth date dies in Surrey in 1979

Building on what has been found - Edith Bullock was baptised 11 Oct 1893 at St Silas, Gilcar, Sheffield.

Parents: Charles (a groom) and Clara, of 42 Hurst Rd.

Hi Giggsy, looks promising, Edith, Mabel, Ellen (nelly) are names I have. Dorothy and John Charles no. I will try the 1911 census tho Edith has not shown up there before, am I right in thinking this is from 1901 census?

You should be able to find Charles and Clara easily enough on the 1911 census.  I suspect that Edith is on the 1911 without a birth place, but still living in Ecclesall (don't think we can do look ups for the 1911 census)
