Old negatives converted to photos?
« on: Saturday 13 January 18 14:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I m sure this has probably been asked before, but I have some very old black and white negatives that I would dearly love to have turned into photos. I am not very technical and though there do seem to be ways to do it by scanning the negatives etc, I wondered if anyone has any experience of a company I could send them to, to be made into photos.
Thanks
Cathy

What type of negatives are they? 35mm strip, glass plate?

If you type "where to get old photo negatives printed" into g00gle, you will get many hits.  I haven't used any of them as I scan, reverse and tweak my old negs, so I can't advise on the best company.

Depending on where you live, there are still high-street shops and larger supermarkets where this can be done.

As Philip says it all depends on what kind of negatives they are. The restorers on here have had some success converting black & white negatives to photos, so if you are able to scan them we will be able to see if we can help.

If you can, scan them shiny side down and place a piece of white card over them to keep them flat and in place at a resolution of 600- 800dpi and in colour.
