William Caunt born Garthorpe was not the son of the possible couple you mentioned (who were in Nottinghamshire).

William's parents were William and Charlotte and this is their marriage:

William Caunt and Charlotte Geeson married 29/10/1821 Garthorpe, Leicestershire.

Census shows he was bc.1794 Foston, Lincolnshire.
