I note from some trees on ancestry that none seem to have Farring Clamp's baptism or parents, plus in 1851 he states born Canterbury City, 61 and 71 in Ipswich, Suffolk and 1881 Bury St. Edmunds so obviously not sure himself. However, I believe Canterbury was indeed correct and that his parents later went to Ipswich.
Ferren/Ferrin Clamp bp.23/4/1797 Canterbury, Kent, son of Richard and Ann.
Found marriage of a Richard Clamp to Ann Simons 16/2/1789 Saxstead, Suffolk
Two daughters born Ipswich:
Jane Clamp bp.31/7/1802 St. Clement, Ipswich, dau. of Richard and Ann
Susannah Clamp b.11/10/1804, bp.21/7/1805 St. Peter, Ipswich, dau. of Richard and Ann late Simonds. (Richard is shown as being in Westminster Militia).
So with son born in Canterbury (Farring's 1851 pob), and 2 daughters born in Ipswich (Farring's 1861/1871 pob) surely Richard Clamp and wife Ann Simons must be his parents? Clearly they were not long in Canterbury and swiftly moved to Ipswich but where they were between 1789 and 1796 have no idea, likewise after 1805.
