Unfortunately William E C Warnes dies 1900.
But I think William A E Warnes may have lived but who was looking after him when his mother dies as his father is in the Marines. ?
There is a death for a William A E  Warnes in June 1979 in kingsbridge Devon which is a possible but the DOB is given as 18/7/1905 which of course doesn't tally. But Kingsbridge is were the family live after William Warnes remarries.
Unfortunately although all of William and Clara Warnes children have died a number of the entries on the 1939 return for them are still closed. But what progress we have made this afternoon. Really appreciate it .

July 1905 tallies very well with a birth registered in the September quarter.

You should be able to find young "Willie" Warnes in the 1911 census easily enough.

On the UK Army and Navy BMD records on Ancestry 1730-1960 its unclear if they had 3 children or if thats for the entry above Williams Marriage ?
cant make out names but dates are 10/12/98, 31/8/05 and 24/1/08.

I hadn't seen that record but have just found it via the card index. Those 3 dates refer to the previous entry, not William Warnes whose children are not listed.

Very many thanks. Have found young William. Feel I  now know a lot more about his father and family.
