Thank you everyone for your replies,many years ago when I started my family research, I discovered that my G Grandfather left his wife and six children and went to New York, shame I discovered this after my father and Grandfather had died as no one ever knew where he had gone, he bigamously remarried there and I managed to find all this out, including USA census,copies of marriage certificate, death certificate, where he is buried, all this with the help of a web site very similar to this one, today I will look through my many files,papers etc to see if I can find this source again.

Is Frederick your g grandfather or one of his sons?
Frederick is on every census with Sarah A and children although I think he might only have five children 
In 1911 he is described as a resident patient in Hastings - see Family Search here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7BN-CPF

He dies 1918 in St Leonard’s on Sea but of Leicester and probate is granted to Samuel, Fred and Thomas, his sons, plus a solicitor. He leaves a substantial amount.

Louisa Payne   was the daughter of Sarah Elizabeth Goodman Payne (was Tebbs before marriage)

Sarah was the sister of my GGrandfather, Richard Tebbs, the one who left his family and went to New York sometime after 1891, he remarried there in 1896, this was a long time after Frederick and Sarah went though, so cannot see a connection. I am intruiged about the New York connection,maybe they came back because of the death of a parent I have not gone any further back in his tree at the moment, something made them change their minds especially as they were applying for citizenship.

I never intend to become engrossed in Family on the periphery of my immediate ancestors, but I cannot resist an unusual story, unfortunately we can never uncover the reasons for some of their actions.......they must have had a reason to change their minds!

Was rhe child you refered to called willie thorn crick.?

Willie Thorn is a well known name in the snooker community ..i think he participated in " strictly come dancing"recently.   There used to be a snooker club in leicester named after him .

I have never come across Willie Thorne Crick, although it could be possible as so. Any of them have the middle name of Thorne,Throne,Thane, never know which is correct!
