On Ancestry, Whitley reads as:  Whitley (near Whitley Bridge), Yorkshire, England

Yes, that sounds correct.

This map might be easier.
Whitley middle left, Selby just off the top towards left.

Probably the Whitley, which is part of Kellington, South of Selby.

I'm sure it's work related, but I see that the Jackson/Gibson/Tate family has moved from one place to another in every successive generation.  Many of these moves are within less than 10 miles.

The History of Selby ... by James Mountain 1800

You may find this interesting for general information.

There is a Directory for 1800, but it only has the "Principal Inhabitants" after page "( 40 )" Might be worth a look.

Hopefully this will work now

The only Mary JACKSON (retired Tanner 1851 Census) of Gowthorpe, Selby, I know about, was born GRANTHAM, Lincolnshire about 1786.

1861 Selby Census
Sarah Hood, Widow, aged 41, Tanner, Born Selby. [John Hood's widow, nee Richardson]
Mary Jackson, Widow, aged 75, Born Grantham, Lincs.
Mary Jackson, Dau'r                  Born Ackworth, Yorks.

 ----------

One of my Hoods of Selby, Sarah HOOD, Tanner, age 41, Widow, born Selby, was living adjacent to Mary Jackson and her Daughter, Mary Jackson in 1861.

Ignore. This is a later Mary Jackson.

So, Mary was born in Grantham instead of Whitley and she didn't live to be 102.  If she had, she was born in 1729 since her earlier death date given was 3 Feb 1831.  I have Richard's death year as 1819 (as stated earlier) which is certainly quite a birth earlier than Mary's death date.
