The parish ( the printed form ) marriage in the parish register 1815 will not give the fathers name & occupation as that started from 1837 unless it was a marriage by licence and may have more info on the  bond allegations held at the Borthwick library archives York university

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Just for starters there was a William Armitage baptised 23/11/1793 at St Peter's, Huddersfield -- father Thomas Armitage - abode Slaithwaite. A possibility.

No mother's name shown unfortunately.

(Yorkshire baptisms on Find My Past).
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

A possibility for Betty Hirst is a baptism at St James, Slaithwaite on 10/11/1796 - father Benjamin. Abode Ainley Place, Slaithwaite.

I will see if I can find marriages for these potential fathers.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

There is a marriage on 27/1/1780 at St Peter's Huddersfield - of Benjamin Hirst to Betty Armitage -- but both shown as from the 'parish' of Huddersfield - might be the correct marriage, but may not!
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Its highly likely its the right parents of the couple's marriage as Slaithwaite was a chapelry of Huddersfield parish those years seeing as the baptisms year both from Slaithwaite were in Huddersfield parish

Thank you for that info Dobfarm.

There are 3 possible marriages for Thomas Armitage at Huddersfield, unfortunately.

Brides names:
Martha Aneley (1779)
Mary Parkin (1780)
Betty Bramha (1784)

all rather early.
The names which William Armitage and Betty Hirst gave their children may help. Having said that - Martha, Mary and Betty are rather rather popular - so maybe not helpful.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

This 1815 marriage is only 26 year before the 1841 census, this may give some info that may identify/help or eliminate all possible alternative marriages or baptisms by location or trade or refine the marriages by the children from each marriage groups.  ???

Image is on ancestry.
William Armitage to Betty Hirst 7 August 1815 at St Peter Huddersfield
Witness William Sykes and J Lancashire

Both witnesses sign all the marriages on that page all for the 7th.
A William Parkin marries a Sarah Sykes and a Samuel Sykes marries Hannah Gledhill.

So no family member signs.

NOTES
On the next page a Joseph May  marries an Alice Hirst also 7th August 1815 it was witnessed by Joseph Hirst.

So are Betty and Alice related and who is Joseph a brother ?
