Thank you, I wondered as George Junior's birth reg does not agree with the birthdate you have given.
I am trying to find out what happened to George ( Mondy, Munday, Monday ) Eddy, born 27th Jan 1859 at Topsham.

I wanted to make sure I was looking at the right person  :)

I took George Mondy Eddy's birth date from his Royal Navy record 27th Jan 1859 at Topsham.

Eleanor Maude Eddy was their daughter, but I have her dying in 1888 in the district of Lambeth aged i year.

Reading the remarks re his character (Indifferent, Objectionable)  on his RN record and adding that to his 2 gaol sentences I wonder if he just deserted his family and emigrated

Hi CaroleW

Because I was unable to find George after 1881 and having looked at his RN record, I did wonder if he just upped and left, perhaps on a non RN vessel.
