Electoral Register Look Up for 1913/1914 if possible please.
« on: Friday 16 March 18 20:57 GMT (UK) »
I started the below listed thread nearly five years ago and bumped it up again in January this year after ordering a duplicate marriage certificate.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=652079.9

I am trying to find the parents of Frances H Lloyd ( I am really struggling to find any definitive information on Frances H Lloyd, where she came from or any of her family ). The duplicate certificate revealed a Fathers surname but no christian name just a single black line.

Someone has suggested to me about looking on the electoral register for a Frances H Lloyd living at Waunfawr Terrace, Cross Keys, Risca circa 1913/1914. Does anyone know how I could access this information please ( I currently do not possess a subscription to any online family history or geneology websites ).

Many thanks in advance for all offers of help and assistance.  ;)

Most women did not get the vote until the late 1920’s so would not appear on an electoral register
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Hi rosie99,

Thankyou for taking the time to reply to my post.

I was hoping that she might have been listed ( even if her Father was deceased it may have given a name for her Mother for me to research, that is assuming Frances was living at home and not a boarder herself ) but never gave it a thought about women not getting a vote until the late 1920s.

Many thanks again  ;)

Frances H Lloyd

You said you had the marriage certificate, presumably you know what her second name was. Why is it a secret?

Thank you for your reply jonw65.

There is no secret! just an innocent mistake on my behalf that I had forgotten to include her second name which was Helen according to the certificate. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure yet if that second name is a help!
It's possible that the marriage witness Daisy Davenport and her husband might have been living at that address in 1914, as it is extremely close to this lady in the 1911 free index.

Don't think she has any connection to Lloyd.

Thank you for your reply John.

I must admit the second christian name of Helen does appear to hinder search results I have carried out myself since ordering the dulpicate certificate. I am really struggling to find any pre marriage information on Frances.

The search continues..........
