I would appreciate some assistance with the missing information about Walter Charles Raisell.
He was the son of Charles Raiswell (1844-1927) born 1844 at Diddlebury, Shropshire and Mary Ann Ridley (1842-1917)born 1842 in Byford, Herefordshire.
The 1871 census taken at Staneye Rdnorshire Wales gave Charles Raiswell as a coachman with his wife Mary Ann who he married December 17,1870 in Hereford.
The 1881 census, taken at Clifton, Gloucestershire gave Charles Raiswell and his wife Mary Ann and their three children including Walter Charles Raiswell given as born 1873 in Knighton, Padnorshire, Wales.
I know that Walter became a grocer and ran his business in Tunbridge Wells . The 1913 directory gave Walter Charles Raiswell, grocer etc and also London & Raiswell, grocers, wine and spirit merchants 22 Mount Pleasant Road and grocers at 27 Grove Hill Road Tunbridge Wells. The 1918 directory gives the same listing. The 1922 directory gave Walter C. Raiswell provision merchant 48 and 50 Mount Pleasant Road; 27 Grove Hill Road and 1 Chapel Place Tunbridge Wells. The 1930 directory gave Walter C. Raiswell Ltd and he is still in Tunbridge Wells in the 1938 directory.
Walter became an Alderman in Tunbridge Wells and is referred to as such in a death record which says he died October 17,1950 while a resident of Halls Hole, Forest Road, Tunbridge Wells and the Gazette states he was a grocer who died peacefully. An executor of his estate was Edith Ellen Raiswell but I don't know if this was his wife or perhaps a daughter. His funeral service was held at the Holy Trinity Church in Tunbridge Wells.
A book says his business under the name of Kent County Stores at 22 Mount Pleasant road had been established in 1899 in what had been a grocers shop since 1880.
I would like to find out any information about his possible marriage and how many children he had.
Also would like any census records after 1881 for him and a probate record. When and where was he buried?
