« on: Sunday 07 August 05 02:23 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information about the parents of Ann Frazer. Their names were James and Elizabeth (nee Mitchell) and their daughter, Ann, was born and Christened in Alloa, Clackmannan 2/8/1811.
I know that they moved from her to Port Glasgow,  Janna

The two Janets mentioned above look as though the firts one possible died and they had another child by the same name (pretty common then).
same for the two Davids too.
The two mentions for Jane one is her birth the 2nd her christening. Same for Anne.

There are also two possible births for James Farxer, assuming he was born in clackmannan. The only way to confirm place of birth is by finding him on a later census.

Possibles are

JAMES FRAZER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 26 AUG 1776

JAMES FRAZER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 31 AUG 1776 Alloa, Clackmannan, Scotland

Taking a closer look at this information it would appear that Twins David and Janet have been entered twice David and Daira being the same person and the date is the same except 1807 becomes 1803. Plus the parents married Feb 1807 (short pregnancy!) Then later children 5 and 9 Ann becomes Jane - dates for birth and Christening are same. Ann is my relative it she doesn't appear to have a twin on information I have gathered.  John and James are also twins.  This seems to fit with information I have to date.  Thank you for your help though especially with James Frazer - this lead took me back another generation.  Janna
