Nice find.  Patience’s birthplace is Lifton (c1838), so some connection with Eliza?

OK excellent - so Eliza had William in 1874 with the mysterious William Weeks, and boarded him with her married sister Patience Tucker while she worked in service.

Things I am wondering about:

Who was William Weeks (did he even exist?) and are the child’s unusual middle names clues to his identity?

Who was Phillis/Phyllis A. L. Tucker b Launceston abt 1873-4, also living with the Tuckers (as granddaughter in 1881; niece in 1891) - is this another child of Eliza’s?  Just can’t place her at the moment.  I especially want to know if the initial L is for Lavis :)

Wow - a bit complicated but ...

Birth
March 1874 Launceston vol 5c pg 26
Ada Felis Tucker Lawrence    mmn Williams

Marriage
September 1901 Newton Abbot 5b 201
Ada Phyllis Lawrence and John George Hewitt

Which Williams is mother to Ada Phyllis?

Lawrence has been mentioned earlier as an alternative to Lavis.

The 1939 Census shows his dob as ? ? 1871.  Very unhelpful.

One thing I forgot to mention is that on his marriage certificate he is down as a widower as well.

His date of death is April 1944 too if that’s of help? One of the certificates I have for him has his name as William Renford Lawrence Waldron.

This makes Ada/Phyllis’s birth surname of Lawrence especially interesting.
