As I said in my previous post, I tried accessing the site via O2 on my phone and it was perfectly OK

I think it may be related to the contract terms or just sheer bad luck (in my own case with EE my daughter was able to access Rootschat with no problem while I was frozen out - part of my rant when they snootily explained to a packed shop that they were blocking certain adult chat sites for "my protection")

Just thinking back, I think I did have to give my DoB on the last contract, so it could be that they're not sure. Are you Pay and Go or Contract?

The whole thing is such a palaver.

hallmark's post was interesting as it says I need a credit card (a debit card won't do). I only have a debit card.  There isn't an O2 shop in town so I'll need to vist the next town.

You could try calling their support line on 202 from your mobile.  Worth a try.

Generally 02 are very good but this reminds me of when I set up the mobile broadband contract last year.  They put the contract on my phone by mistake, meaning I couldn't send or receive calls although I could use the internet. I contacted them by online chat and they said the only way it could be sorted out was to phone them! They suggested I find a phone box (have you seen one recently?) or ask someone if I could use their phone!
