Darwen family search
« on: Wednesday 11 April 18 15:03 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am trying to find out where my father in law lived in the 1920s/30s, he was born in 1914 to Harry and Esther Harris in Darwen. I have found Harry and Esther on the 1911 census living at Highfield St Darwen with one daughter Winifred. I remember him mentioning Plantation fields near to where he lived. His name was Fred Marsden Harris, hope someone can help, thanks. Tony.

Hi,

Was Fred married to a Winifred b.1912, if so then a free search of the 1939 has them living in Lytham St Anne's

There is an article on Fred Marsden Harris (24) a flagman in Lancashire Evening Post 08 March 1939. His address is given as Dalton Street, Lytham St Anne's.

Thank you for replying. Yes that's him in living in St Annes in 1939. The article in Lancashire Evening Post sounds interesting, how can I view it. Any idea where Fred was living in the 1920s before he was married, thanks again for your swift reply, Tony.

Hi Tony,

The article in the Lancashire Evening Post is available from British Newspapers. If you subscribe to FindMyPast you will be able to view the article.

Unfortunately I've not found any reference to Fred's whereabouts in the 1920's with the resources available to me.
