Could some kind person please help me find Peter Davies (shoemaker),1810-82 and family in the 1861 Census for Holywell; also his son Edward (1837-85) and family?
The 1851 has Peter and wife Ann at Bagillt Street, Holywell, Flintshire, Wales, with children and lodgers: Entry 165. Head, married, aged 41, shoemaker, b. Holywell, Flintshire. Living with wife, 3 sons, 3 daughters, and 4 lodgers (David Davies, 21, shoemaker; Catherine Isaac, 29; John Isaac, 1; & Ann & Mary Davies, 42 & 41). Ref. HO/107/2500/50/p.337
The 1871 has the family at Battery Row, Greenfield, Holywell, Flintshire, Wales:
Schedule 222. Head, married, aged 61, shoemaker, b. Holywell, Flintshire. Living with wife, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 granddaughter (Ellen Jones), and a lodger. Ref. RG10/5641/54/p.40
... but I cannot find them in the 1861.
Same with son Edward Davies (1837-1885) and family. Edward married Ann Lee 11 Oct 1856: No. 475, p. 238.Edward Davies (under age bachelor labourer Bagilt St son of Peter Davies shoemaker) & Ann Lee (full age spinster Penyball St, d of Hugh Lee miner).
By 1861, they had a son Robert (1858-1913) and daughter Ann Jane (1860-1911).
In the 1871, they are at Battery Row, Greenfield, Holywell, Flintshire, Wales: Schedule 223. Head, married, aged 36, labourer, b. Holywell. Living with wife, 3 sons, and a daughter, next door to father and mother. Ref. RG10/5641/54/p. 40
But, again, I cannot find them in 1861?
Is this part of the census missing, perhaps?
Many thanks and best wishes
John
