There is a return from Australia to England.

1914. Ship Themistocles . Arrived London 29th July 1914
ALLEN, Charles Frederick, dairyman Aged 34
ALLEN, Kate. Aged 29
ALLEN, Ernest aged 5
ALLEN, George aged 2

They departed from Brisbane and their intended permanent residence was England.

Sue

ADDING to clarify.
So it appears that Kate is the Mary who arrived with Charles in 1908.

Here is the birth of the child George
1912 B29174 George William ALLEN
Parents  Charles Frederick & Kate COMPTON

Lucky you WW1 record is on FindMyPast.  They had another daughter Lydia Nov 1914 in Balham
Discharged no longer fit for war service  7 Sept 1917 rheumatism and gastritis
Looks as though he served “at home” as an anti aircraft gunner or a driver for them not sure
He had to have a special diet on account of his bad teeth! (Why didn’t they just pull them out I wonder)

In 1937 Charles Frederick, George William and Lydia Kathleen are all at 92 Cricket Street, Petrie Tce, Brisbane.
There’s a tree on Ancestry. Has Lydia marrying Edwin Humber  in Australia, 6 chlildren, dies 1992 https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/108989842/person/300070094332/facts

I don’t think she’s got Charles father etc correctly but I think the Lydia family is fine as far as I can tell

They are back in Australia by 1921.
Here’s Charles. He must have been repatriated by the Australians  but a I cannot see the rest of the family.

Hi Mckha489

This is not the man or family that our OP is looking for.
This has been  established earlier in the conversation  by his having the wrong parents.

OP is searching for the son of Frederick and Charlotte ALLEN (nee LAMB)
