The original photo is much smaller than the scanned image I've uploaded. It appears to have been cut down from UK postcard size to fit a frame. It's roughly 85mm x 133mm.

Interesting and beautiful photo! 

What strikes me first is the old fashioned button-up shoes on the two younger sisters and the very modern looking lace up shoes on the older one. 

The other outstanding interest for me is the knitted dresses.  Someone put in a lot of work! 

(I do remember having a pair of knitted bathers when I was a very young girl - they were appalling - so heavy scratchy and stretchy when wet!!      ::) :-X ;D ;D)
