Where did you get his parents names from?
Where is he in 1841 and 1851?
There is an 1851 entry b 1837 St Giles but parents are William & Margaret
I'm at work at the moment so I have limited info on my phone.
I can't remember off the top of my head on how I got the name Ann Foley over Margaret, but over the weekend I'll look at my printed sheets.
I have a feeling that it is from St. Patrick's RC church in Soho Square transcripts which I found at the SOG about 20 odd years ago.
I also have William's parents as William and Margaret.
I found William Stogdon's baptism on a visit to St. Giles In The Fields church and their baptism regigeters. He was born 18th December (same as my Mum strangely enough) 1809 and baptised on 25th December the same year.
William's Marriage to Honor/Ann Foley was 10/Sep/1932 at Old Church St. Pancras and on Ancestry she's listed a Ann Toley!!!
1861 census finds William a Greengrocer born in St Giles Middlesex aged 48 and his wife Ann also a greengrocer and born the same. Also at the residence is Thomas a son aged 8 a Scholar.
1881 census they were living at 16 Princes Row, St. Ann's Soho.
William the head aged 72 and a general dealer, Ann aged 68 also general dealer and son Thomas son aged 27 a Butcher.
William Stogden died of Exhaustion, heart disease and congestion of the lungs - natural PM. Also there was an inquest held (I have never found this inquest info)
and Honor Foley (also known as Ann Foley).
The 1851 entry for Margaret & William shows father in law John Foley b Ireland also in household.
John is 14 so b 1836/37
What is William's occupation on John's 1858 marriage cert?
On the marriage cert:
John is listed as a Labourer living at 43 Crown Street, St. Ann's, Soho.
Mary Ann is living at 33 Crown Street, St. Ann's, Soho.
John's father is William Stogdon a Greengrocer.
Mary Ann's father is William Quinlan a Plasterer.
Here's the 1871:
