John And Alice Lupton née Middleton
« on: Monday 07 May 18 04:55 BST (UK) »
John Lupton  born abt 1809 in Leeds married in 1834 Alice Middleton born abt 1812 Barbon Westmorland. Can’t make out who their parents were. Two of their sons James and George went to Victoria Australia and established the Live and Let Live hotel at Barkers Creek Vic. I have a fair bit of information about them and their descendants but nothing much about before they set out from England. James had his wife, Mary Ann Atkinson with him too. I think she was born in Fewston Yorkshire but don’t know anything else about her. Anyone have any clues about John, Alice and Mary Ann please.

Thankyou. I am not sure about this. Could be but I thought Alice was born in Barbon Westmorland. James, the son who came to Australia, would have been about 6 in 1841. Too many people with the same names is the trouble. I did see an 1881 census with a John and Alice Lupton living in Hampsthwaite Yorkshire but they could be an entirely different couple.  ???

Ann Eliza LUPTON  birth reg Jun qtr 1839 Leeds (23/384) and George LUPTON birth reg Dec qtr 1841 Leeds (23/397) both have mother's maiden name MIDDLETON. So I think it's a pretty good chance this is the correct family. Alice's place of birth on the 1841 census could be incorrect?
