Thanks for the replies. 
 I also believe that  this Mary is Mary Peddie . 
I  was trying to find a link between  her husband James Watson and "my" John Watson who married Mary Cameron c 1822,
Apart from living in Perthshire, and similar ages  I haven't found any connection unfortunately, so another lead ends in a  deadend .
