1851 census lookup please. Angus[forfar]

Is anyone able to search the 1851 census of Forfar? I am searching for Charles McKenzie. In 1841 he was at Murton Mill, aged 60yrs. He was a navy pensioner.He was born in the county. His wifes name was Jane [not born in county] Thankyou. Pam

Hi Pam,

Only thing I'd add is that from the military records you found Charles was born in "Alyth, Angus", however despite sitting very close to the border between Angus and Perthshire, Alyth is, and as far as I can tell always has been, in Perthshire.

Would this be a help to the census searchers?
