To be of marriageable age in the 1840's there were 3 but 2 were labourers & at least one of those was illiterate. That leaves just the one belonging to the poster.

We do not know about the Dennis’s occupation on his marriage to Mary Ann Kelly as they probably married in a Catholic Church but in 1851 he is a Weaver.
Dennis who married Catherine was a Weaver on marriage.
Dennis who married Ann G was also a Weaver.

You could be right therefore that they are all the same man. The marriage to Mary Ann will help perhaps.  :)

There is a marriage 1824 to Elizabeth Wallis who is a labourer.

Are these the ones you mean?

I had not considered that one at all but thought he may be the Labourer you refer to.

There are a couple children’s marriages who have a father Dennis as a Pavior.

Both of the other Dennis' were labourers, only the poster's Dennis was a weaver.

Not sure what you mean Jim1 by ‘both of the other Dennis’ being labourers. Who are they?

The marriage certificates of Catherine and Ann G and the census show the entries as Weavers.
You are persuading me now that Ann Gibson perhaps was the wife in between Catherine and Mary Ann.
Please tell me that is what you are implying when you refer to the poster’s Dennis- that all three are the same one - otherwise I am confused.  :)

I never considered the Dennis who married Elizabeth - the Labourer.

OK. there were 2 Dennis Dunn's in Mancs. both born around 1800. Both labourers.
The poster's Dennis Dunn was born around 1808 & married thrice. On all he's a weaver.
On his second marriage to Ann Gibson he states his father as James Dunn a butcher.
The other 2 were married to (another) Catherine & Elizabeth resp.

Apologies for being so pedantic. I think we agree but I don’t know who the other Catherine is. I can only find Catherine Gollagher who is  Dennis’s first wife and mother of Sarah. I had him then married to Mary Ann.
You also have him married to Ann.
Let’s hope that all is solved soon.

It is also possible that a Dennis Dunn arrived later (post famine) so not appearing in 1841 but that would be even more complications  ;)

It doesn't really matter who the other 2 Dennis's are as they're not the poster's.

You are so right!

I misunderstood you and my queries were more for my benefit rather than helping Wendy as I couldn’t quite match up the information.
