Do you know what his step father's occupation was? It might help explain why they were in Peterhead. It strikes me that Falmouth, Plymouth and Peterhead are all docks which might be the link?

He worked in Devonport Dockyard as an electrician from 1939, my Dad did the same job ,but later. However there is a family anecdote that Arthur and Hetty were school caretakers, but I don’t know where, this maybe could have taken them to Peterhead.

Thanks, I have his birth certificate, his dad died in WW1. Arthur Lisburne, his step dad was the probable bigamist changing his name from Flatman to evade discovery.

Thanks, I have his birth certificate, his dad died in WW1. Arthur Lisburne, his step dad was the probable bigamist changing his name from Flatman to evade discovery.

Ok I originally was reading Flatman as Hettie's maiden name  ::) ::) ::) so thanks for claifiying  :)
