It appears the SS Bendigo had an accident in transit and the passengers were transferred to another ship, the Balranald.

So Joseph Henry STEDDY and William George STEDDY were brothers.

Their ww1 service records confirms details to support this with addresses and father as NOK.

The WW! service record digitised shows Joseph Henry STEDDY was born 1894 and father Edward William STEDDY was NOK at Walton Farm Bulading via Collie. He joined the 28th Battallion.

He married in 1921 to Charlotte Gibbs.

March 1921, J H Steddy late sergeant 28th battalion AIF married Miss Charlotte Gibbs
