ymca history in hanley stoke on trent,,

hi,,,
i know its a long shot,,, i work for the ymca hanley and we are researching our workplace in stoke on trent and unfortunately have hit a brick wall...
we have found out it was originally in marsh st hanley in 1896 and was wondering how to go about researching it further or perhaps find photographs of the building,,which would be fantastic,,any advice or info would be greatly appreciated

What have you already tried? As you may know, the main YMCA archives are in the special collections at Birmingham University library, and they might contain items specifically relating to the Hanley/Stoke premises.

Alternatively, for old photos you might be best enquiring at the Central Library in Bethesda Street - either local studies or archives or both. Or perhaps a local museum?

 thanks for the info....no i didnt know about the collections in birmingham....at this moment we have only researched it on internet at home ,,looking at old newspapers etc....i will definately go the archives in hanley,,,hopefully they will have something.
