The one in Crosby in 1939 has been transcribed as George H. -- however when I increase the actual image the middle initial does look more like an A. than an H -- as JenB says.

Strangely though - there was no George A. Vincent born in Q/E Sep 1915, to fit the birth date of the one living in Crosby (5 Aug 1915). So that's a bit of a mystery -- I am probably missing it, but can't see a George Albert Vincent or a George A. Vincent born in Q/E Sep 1916 - to fit the death in Crosby.

Hence there may be an error in the birth year of the one dying in Crosby. Just an added frustration.

It would be boring if it went smoothly!
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

There is a George Vincent (no middle initial) who died in Q1 1917 aged 1, Newcastle on Tyne.

I'd stick that in the 'possibles' box to explore if nothing else comes up and then if I was really stuck would ask for a checking point and say that I wanted the cert if it is a match with the father being George Thomas.

Boo

Have you discounted this death.   I can't see another birth in the area that it would match or do you know that he survived infancy.

Thanks for this info no joy there with a will I know his brother James who died in 1965 left everything to George so was hoping he may of done as well.
Why we are searching is to find what happened to WW1 medals for a POW  who is now dead to.

When did James write his Will? If George is the sole beneficiary, then George must have been alive when the Will was written. Therefore unlikely George died in 1917 age 1!

When was James born - older or younger than George?

Or are we talking about a different James ….. I was assuming you meant George Henry's brother, but maybe you are meaning George Henry's Uncle, ie George Thomas's brother.
