I will assume it is William Francis born in Llanarmon to whom you refer. I do not think there is a Llanarm.

1891.
 13 Hope St Tudhoe Durham
William Francis      22     Miner      b. Llanarmon
Jemimah                18     Wife       b.Greenfield, Flintshire

same address and the reason for mentioning them will become clear shortly
Samuel Spencer     53    Miner      b.Holywell
Sarah                     53    Wife       b.Llanasa

1901
2 Whitford St Feathers Inn Holywell
William Francis       31    Butcher   b. Mold, Flintshire
Jemima                   27                  b. Whitford
Thomas William Francis 8              b.Ffynnongroew
Edith Florence               6                    do
Cyril More(?)                 5                     do
Alfred Gwynfryd            2                     do
Albert Ivor                    10 mos      b. Greenfield
Sarah Spencer        70     m-in-law b. St Asaph

Hope that helps .

Llanarmon is actually probably Llanarmon yn Ial which should come under Ruthin registrars. The address is Station Road, Ruthin,Denbighshire, LL15 1BS. Tel: 01824 706174. Part time hours I think.

Be warned that there are 2 other Llanarmon's in Denbighshire but this is next to Flintshire and is the likely one.
Also I see a load of Francis's in the IGI births between 1730 and 1836 in that town/village inc William Francis's.

Should help!!

Audrey give me a chance!!

1871

Nant y Paline(?) Eryrys

Thomas Francis   49   Labourer  b.Llanferres
Mary                    46   do & wife b.Llanarmon
Edward                10                           do
Mary                      7                            do
William                   3                           do

I cannot see them in 1861
BUT

IGI
Thomas Francis christened 6 April 1822 Llanferres
parents John & Mary
AND
Marriage John & Mary Llanferres 24 Sept 1820

seems a fair bet

John Francis is in the 1861 census - would you like these details?

Llanferres is the next village to Llanarmon

AND

John Francis christened 31 May 1795 Llanarmon
parents: Francis Oldfield and Elisabeth

Have you come across patronymics before? If not you should be able to find it on the web.

Incidentally I took the original ages from 1891 not 1881 hence the error

best wishes

I am most grateful for all your help would of taken me weeks to find all that and yes I would like the 1861 if thats OK.This is my husbands side of the family .I do have their family bible but its all in welsh and the writing is very faded we have all had a go trying to read the writing but never managed it .There is only one member of the Francis family left now Mother in-laws sister she is 91 years old  so I am going to send her a copy of what I have she will be very interested .I will do some searching to see what I can find on the places mentioned above they were coal miners and I think life was pretty awful in those days .I think a few days in Wales might be on the cards been to all the places my family came from my husbands not to good at the moment  so will have to see if its easy to get to on the train

As requested
1861
In the township of Cyfnant, Llanarmon

Dwelling also given as Cyfnant - I have a marriage certificate from 1855 with my gggf David Roberts (father Samuel Roberts) with the same address so if you come across any info on them I would be grateful.
John Francis  Widower  67  Farmer b.Llanferres
Martha           Daughter 33 Housekeeper b. Llanarmon
Abraham        Son          21  Ag Lab                 do
William            do           20     do                     do
Ann                Daughter 15                              do

Hope that fits in and you should now be  back now to 1794.
The nearest you will get by train is Chester and then bus or taxi via Mold.
There were a load of lead mines in the area and that is what some of my relatives did but also coal mining but a little further over int Flintshire normally. I am no expert however.

Let me know if I can help further
