I think I may be descended from this couple via their daughter Elizabeth. Can you tell me where you found this marriage?

FreeREG has;
Marriage;
09 Jun 1701, St Thomas, Dudley
William BANNISTER to Mary COTTERILL
William a Collier

Bapts there also;
JOHN 31 May 1702
JOSEPH 19 Mar 1703/4
Parents WILLIAM/MARY, Father a Collier
All as BANNISTER
+
ELIZABETH Banister 06 Oct 1706, to William/Mary, Father a Glover**
Other children with William as a Glover;
MARY Banister  01 Jan 1708/9
SARAH Banester 06 May 1711
HANNAH Banister 30 May 1714
+
To William/Mary, all as Bannister
ESTHER 08 Dec 1717
JOHN 20 Mar 1719/20
JOSEPH 03 Apr 1720
SARAH 26 Mar 1722
These all have no occp for William.

Looks like 2 couples named William/Mary to me, unlikely a Collier would become a Glover.

Also a Burial of EDWARD Banister, 10 Jan 1707/8 son of William

Trish :)

Thank you, I had looked on FreeReg but missed these for some reason.

I am descended from Elizabeth so from William the Glover.

I think it is William the Collier who probably married Mary Cotterill going by the dates of birth of the children (ie a year after the wedding), so Mary Cotterill could be a red herring as far as I am concerned.
