I think it would still be a good idea to start to post some of the document here on Rootschat if you can.
Then you get the input from several different people.
If, as you say, it is difficult to decipher, the more people that can help you, the better.
Sometimes one person can be stumped by a word, or many words(!), and others will come along and be able to work it out. (And if there is any Latin, there are only a couple of people that can do that).

Also it would give you practice at posting images, ready for the next time!  :)
It can seem quite tricky to start with, but like all things with computers, once you get the hang of it, it's not really

It is an interesting alternative spelling of the surname. More recent interesting alternatives have come up for me, I have had 2 official letters addressed to me, one under miss sweetcorn and the other, miss Sweatgland!!!!

I blame Spell Check.

I came across a woman in a parish register whose first name was Sweetlips.

I hadn't seen the second document STAC 5/D19/12 - I D - 35 Eliz - Robert Drake v Thomas Swutland et Al, thanks for that. I will order it from the National Archives.

It is an interesting alternative spelling of the surname.

Probably not an 'alternative spelling' as such, but a mistranscription. Probably somebody, somewhere along the line, has simply misread -ee- in the middle as -u-.

I have corresponded with emjsw and sent her my efforts at transcriptions.  There are a few gaps - I hope there will be some snippets posted so Rootschatters can fill in the blanks.
