Yes, I agree it does but her brother John has given the age of Annie as 24 on her mother's
       death cert. in 1862 so some difference in d.o.b. between the 2.  There is a BDM record of birth
       of Jane Ann/Ann Jane for 1837.  Perhaps the purchase of the d.c. of Annie would shed some
       light and it would give a place of birth.  However, death certs. are often unreliable sources
       of info.

So, am I correct in thinking that you have no proof that John Leonard is the son of Johnson and Mary, or do you see him as John L anywhere else?

Jamjar, answering your reply #19.  John Leonard Brothers, son, is named as informant on the death
               cert. of his father Johnson Brothers.  His marriage in 1872 to Kate Cowdroy names him
               as Leonard Brothers on BDM index.


               re NZ.  Spades will look up C of E baptisms at the archives.  It is uncertain whether
               there will be any records for C of E but there is only one way to find out.  If there are
               no records will have to find the location of the Catholic records.  At this point I have been
               unable to find out the location of the Catholic Church archives for NZ.

Have been out for a while hence my delay in answering.
