Mary Jane Ferris
« on: Monday 01 October 18 00:32 BST (UK) »
Jo, the above lady was born in Plymouth, Devon about 1808 and died in Tavistock in 1887. She was married to John northey but he died young in 1833 she then married Waterfield. Her father was William ferris and her mother was Hannah. Trying to find marriage for William and hannah to get her maiden name and not having in luck on the sites I've tried. Does anyone have any ideas, I've tried census but can't find them there either. Thank you

Hi

Have you looked at the marriage in Maker, Cornwall in 1806 ? William FERRIS to Hannah COOMBS on21 Dec 1806. In terms of geography the two places are only 23 miles from each other.

Hi, I've seen Theo before, I think Mary Jane named one of her sons that. It's unusual and stood out. That was a son to her second husband. Grateful for your reply.

Another possible sister, although I can't find a baptism record.....
William Muchmore married Hannah Ferris, 11 May 1833 at East Stonehouse, witnessed by William Ferris & Eleanor Cross.

In 1841 & 1851 William & Hannah Muchmore are in Chatham Kent and have a son named Theophilus....

I've just found this post and I have Waterfield and Ferris in my Tree.  My mother was a Waterfield and her father was born in Tavistock. They ended up living in Millbrook which is near Maker.
