No Mother's maiden name implies her mother was unmarried. Fingers crossed for some clues.
Have you either of the marriage certificates? Did she name a father on them?  was she consistent about the name?

Yes ordered that certificate - have no idea at all about her mother or father.

Had a great result re Lance Corporal Ryde - a photo of his grave stone in Cradock, SA from a researcher in the Cape.
