Mathis children born 1960s

Hello, really stuck here, hopefully someone might be able to offer some guidance.
My great uncle Maurice Henry Mathis born 21 MAR 1928 Wandsworth, London to parents, Edward Mathis and Fanny Cowderoy.

I have I hope him marrying a Patricia R Smith in brentwood essex in 1954, I can't find any information on her but believe they had two children Removed Mathis born 1960 and Removed born 1958. I have if I have the right spoken to a partner of Maurice (he died 2003) i think if I am chasing the right one. And he's new partner is still alive at a grand age of 94, but can not give me any information at all :-/

She said his children were Removed and the son moved to australia. Not sure on this one. Struggling. But it is just Maurice Henry Mathis and past him I am seraching for, I have all his parents, their parents and siblings info. Thanks

we don't do the still-living as site policy.

But I'd try phone books, electoral rolls etc . eg "London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1965"


I can't see any likely Patricia smith in the 1939 index, so maybe they missed the marriage, or maybe she was a widow in 1954.

No Patricia Smith didn't marry him until 1954, I can't find her death or re-marriage, and they I don't think she would be a live today.

The 1939 register was updated to show later married names.
I stated i couldn't see a Smith who later appears as a Mathis.

Have you considered obtaining the marriage cert?

This would give you her age, her father's name and some indication as to whether she has been married before.

I don't know if this is relevant but there are three Mathis/Smith births:-

JQ 1954 Lambeth and two in Stepney who have already been mentioned.
